Cremation Services in Kilkenny

Frequently Asked Questions About Cremation in Kilkenny
Can I arrange a cremation funeral in Kilkenny?
Yes. We can arrange a cremation funeral and guide you through the options for the funeral service, committal and cremation.
Can a cremation service be held at the Funeral Home?
Yes. The complete service can be held at our Funeral Home in John’s Green, with family and friends gathering there before the deceased is brought to the crematorium for cremation.
Can we have a church funeral followed by cremation?
Yes. A traditional funeral service can take place in your chosen church. Afterwards, the committal service can be held either at Johnston’s Funeral Home or at the crematorium.
Do family and friends have to travel to the crematorium?
No. If preferred, the committal service can take place locally at the Funeral Home. The deceased is then brought to the crematorium for cremation.
Can the whole funeral service take place at Johnston’s instead of a church?
Yes. Families can choose to hold the complete funeral service at John’s Green before the deceased is brought to the crematorium.
What is the difference between a cremation service and the cremation itself?
The funeral or committal service is the ceremony where family and friends gather to say goodbye. The cremation itself takes place afterwards at the crematorium, so the service does not have to take place there.
Can you arrange everything with the crematorium?
Yes. Johnston Funeral Directors can take care of the necessary arrangements and liaise with the crematorium on the family’s behalf.
